RedCloud Security Management Software 3.1 Now Available
Physical Access Control Platform Improves Industry-Leading Hot Standby and Auto-Failover Capabilities
Reston, VA – December 30, 2011 – RedCloud, formerly known as PlaSec, today announced the general availability of its RedCloud Security Management Software 3.1, the latest release of the industry's most innovative physical access control system that seamlessly integrates with IT and logical security systems to deliver a new standard in performance, scalability and efficiency.
The latest release of RedCloud Security Management Software further extends RedCloud’s industry-leading hot-standby and auto-failover capabilities, provides more flexible alarm monitoring options, supports dual-sided printing of credentials badges, and fully integrates FIPS-201 compliance to deliver greater ease-of-use, security and performance for all RedCloud network appliance customers.
RedCloud Security Management Software 3.1 features an enhanced user interface and underlying hot-standby system architecture to streamline the setup and administration of dual network appliance security systems, while delivering affordable system reliability, real-time replication and 99.999% uptime to small- and mid-sized organizations, as well as its enterprise customers.
“RedCloud delivered the industry’s first highly available, fully-redundant, appliance-based physical access control system in 2010 at a fraction of the cost of traditional server-based security systems,” said Terry Neely, President and CTO of RedCloud. “Version 3.1 continues this track record of innovation with added features and functionality that offer our customers increased flexibility and new system capabilities.”
RedCloud’s new custom alarm capabilities now allow administrators to define unique alarm attributes for each alarm point within the installation, for example, so that a “forced door” alarm at the reception area triggers a different reaction than a “forced door” alarm at the bank vault. Additionally, RedCloud users can design dual-sided credentials and print unique front- and back-side badge layouts in a single pass. Finally, RedCloud Security Management Software 3.1 now ships with Codebench PIVCheck integration, providing federal government users – and other organizations needing to comply with HSPD-12 requirements – with a real-time, end-to-end card validation, authentication and registration solution.
RedCloud Security Management Software is available on all of RedCloud’s web-based, access control network appliances, including RedCloud Express, RedCloud Enterprise and RedCloud Virtual, all of which are exclusively available through a nationwide network of authorized integrators.
